Manage residue in the field
Where suitable, coordinate access to appropriate equipment and guidance so farmers can prepare fields without open burning.
✳ HARVEST WITHOUT SMOKE / RURAL INDIA
A PROPOSED FULMINARE GLOBAL USA INITIATIVE
The harvest is finished. The farmer’s work is not.
Keeping straw and stalks out of a fire takes more than advice. It takes a practical option, available at the right time and at a cost a farmer can consider.
Fundraising recipient: Fulminare Global USA. The rural India pilot is in planning; results are not claimed as achieved.
THE CHOICE BETWEEN TWO CROPS
After harvest, stalks and straw remain in the field. Before the next crop can be planted, the farmer needs a way to manage that material.
An alternative to burning may require access to a suitable machine, affordable labour, a collection service or a buyer ready to use the residue. None of those can simply be assumed.
A cleaner choice must also be a workable choice.
This is a programme rationale—not a quote attributed to any farmer or a claim about a completed pilot.
ORIGINAL 20-SECOND CONCEPT FILM
This short illustrated film explains why timely advice, service access and follow-up matter. It does not show footage of an existing Fulminare programme.
See the proposed approach ↓The harvest is over. The work is not. No fire is only one part of the plan. Equipment, timing and a workable service. Residue can have a next use. Harvest Without Smoke—a proposed Fulminare Global USA initiative.
NOT ONE ANSWER FOR EVERY FIELD
The appropriate approach would be selected through local crop, soil, time and affordability assessment—never by assuming one machine or method fits every farm.
Where suitable, coordinate access to appropriate equipment and guidance so farmers can prepare fields without open burning.
Where feasible, organize collection or transport only when a verified local user and practical arrangements exist.
Both pathways require farmer participation, clear responsibilities, safe operations and careful planning for the following season.
THE PROPOSED PILOT PROCESS
Record crops, residue, existing practices, next-sowing timing and practical constraints.
Assess machinery, field-based practices, collection and verified local users.
Arrange demonstrations, equipment services or collection if technically and locally feasible.
Track service reliability, affordability and whether preparation meets planting needs.
Ask farmers whether the method is worth repeating and what should change.
YOUR SUPPORT CAN CLOSE A PRACTICAL GAP
Support could fund farmer consultations, field demonstrations, seasonal coordination and follow-up. When justified by the approved plan, it could also help with equipment access or residue collection.

Understand needs and seasonal decisions before buying equipment.
Compare techniques and service approaches in appropriate conditions.
Match potential service access, labour, transport and local users.
Record actual use, cost, timing and farmers' feedback for the next season.
MORE THAN ONE HARVEST
The pilot would consider operator availability, service pricing, maintenance, local demand for residue, access to labour and each farmer's willingness to repeat the approach.
A useful pilot learns from what worked, what cost more than expected and what needs to change.
ACCOUNTABLE TO FARMERS AND SUPPORTERS
Monitoring would distinguish participating farmers, field area managed without open burning, measurable residue quantity where records permit, and service cost and timeliness.
No carbon reduction, air-quality improvement or health outcome is claimed without appropriate baseline, method and evidence.
QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING
A responsible pilot starts with clear decisions, not inflated outcome claims.
No. This is a proposed Fulminare Global USA initiative. The pilot location, local partners, budget and delivery arrangements are not yet confirmed.
No. Equipment access is only one possible route. The best alternative may be field management, a shared service or collection for a verified local user.
Selected crops and pilot geography will be determined by local assessment, farmer need and feasible alternatives. This page does not promise coverage of every region.
Proposed indicators include the area managed without open fire, service cost and timing, residue managed where measurable, and whether participating farmers choose the option again.
No specific carbon savings or measured air-quality outcomes are claimed. Such statements require a defensible baseline and calculation or monitoring method.
